The problem of wastes utilization and recycling is present as complex synergetic processes research and analysis of energy- and resource saving process-es for treatment of polymer wastes of various origin. The research focused on the study of issues such as the development of models of waste-modifying polymer. The investigation are focused in researching such problems as selection of scientific based methods of wastes to be utilized or recycled; the development of appropriated process flow sheets and choice of modifications additives and equipment for polymers waste recycling.     Two-phonon 1- state in 112Sn observed in resonant photon scattering

    Results of a photon scattering experiment on 112Sn using bremsstrahlung with an endpoint energy of E_0 = 3.8 MeV are reported. A J = 1 state at E_x = 3434(1) keV has been excited. Its decay width into the ground state amounts to Gamma_0 = 151(17) meV, making it a candidate for a [2+ x 3-]1- two-phonon state. The results for 112Sn are compared with quasiparticle-phonon model calculations as well as the systematics of the lowest-lying 1- states established in other even-mass tin isotopes. Contrary to findings in the heavier stable even-mass Sn isotopes, no 2+ states between 2 and 3.5 MeV excitation energy have been detected in the present experiment.Comment: 10 pages, including 2 figures, Phys.     Impact of simulated reduced alveolar bone support, increased tooth mobility, and distal post-supported, root-treated abutment tooth on load capability of all-ceramic zirconia-supported cantilever FDP

    OBJECTIVES The aim of this in vitro study was an analysis of the impact of simulated reduced alveolar bone support and post-restored, endodontically treated distal abutment tooth on load capability of all-ceramic zirconia-based cantilever-fixed dental prosthesis (CFDP). MATERIAL AND METHODS The roots of human lower sound premolars (n = 80) were divided into five experimental groups to be restored with all-ceramic zirconia-supported three-unit CFDP regarding bone loss (BL) relative to the cement-enamel junction (CEJ): 2 mm below CEJ = 0% BL (control group), group 25% distal BL, group 50% distal BL, group 50% mesial and distal BL, and group 50% distal BL and adhesive post-supported restoration. Specimens were exposed to simulated clinical function by thermo-mechanical loading (6.000 cycles 5°-55°; 1.2 × 10 cycles 0-50 N) and subsequent linear loading until failure. RESULTS Tooth mobility increased significantly for groups with simulated bone loss (p < 0.001). Four specimens failed during thermal cycling and mechanical loading (TCML). The maximum load capability ranged from 350 to 569 N, and did not differ significantly between experimental groups (p = 0.095). Groups with simulated bone loss revealed more tooth fractures at distal abutment teeth, whereas technical failures were more frequent in the control group (p = 0.024). CONCLUSIONS Differences of alveolar bone support and respectively increased tooth mobility between mesial and distal abutments did not influence load capability. A distal adhesively post-and-core-supported, root-treated abutment tooth did not increase risk of three-unit CFDP failure. CLINICAL RELEVANCE CFDPs are a treatment option used with caution when reduced alveolar bone support, increased tooth mobility, and distal post-supported, root-treated abutment teeth are involved

    SU(4) Fermi Liquid State and Spin Filtering in a Double Quantum Dot System

    We study a symmetrical double quantum dot (DD) system with strong capacitive inter-dot coupling using renormalization group methods. The dots are attached to separate leads, and there can be a weak tunneling between them. In the regime where there is a single electron on the DD the low-energy behavior is characterized by an SU(4)-symmetric Fermi liquid theory with entangled spin and charge Kondo correlations and a phase shift π/4\pi/4. Application of an external magnetic field gives rise to a large magneto-conductance and a crossover to a purely charge Kondo state in the charge sector with SU(2) symmetry.     SPI/INTEGRAL observation of the Cygnus region

    We present the analysis of the first observations of the Cygnus region by the SPI spectrometer onboard the Integral Gamma Ray Observatory, encompassing {\sim} 600 ks of data. Three sources namely Cyg X-1, Cyg X-3 and EXO 2030+375 were clearly detected. Our data illustrate the temporal variability of Cyg X-1 in the energy range from 20 keV to 300 keV. The spectral analysis shows a remarkable stability of the Cyg X-1 spectra when averaged over one day timescale. The other goal of these observations is SPI inflight calibration and performance verification.     Warren McCulloch was a significant influence on a number of British cyberneticians, as some British pioneers in this area were on him. He interacted regularly with most of the main figures on the British cybernetics scene, forming close friendships and collaborations with several, as well as mentoring others. Many of these interactions stemmed from a 1949 visit to London during which he gave the opening talk at the inaugural meeting of the Ratio Club, a gathering of brilliant, mainly young, British scientists working in areas related to cybernetics.     A taxonomic backbone for the Plumbaginaceae (Caryophyllales)

    A taxonomic backbone of the Plumbaginaceae is presented and the current state of knowledge on phylogenetic relationships and taxon limits is reviewed as a basis for the accepted taxon concepts. In total, 4,476 scientific names and designations are treated of which 30 are not in the family Plumbaginaceae. The Plumbaginaceae are subdivided in three tribes with 26 genera and 1,179 accepted species. Two subgenera, 17 sections, two subsections and 187 infraspecific taxa are accepted. At the species and infraspecific level 2,782 synonyms were assigned to accepted taxa, whereas 194 names were excluded from the core checklist (i.e., unplaced taxa, infrageneric subdivisions with still uncertain application, names of verified uncertain application, invalid horticultural names, excluded names from other families, other excluded designations, and unresolved names). The EDIT Platform for Cybertaxonomy was utilized as the tool to compile and manage the names and further taxonomic data under explicit taxon concepts. Secundum references are given in case taxon concepts were taken from the literature, whereas this study serves as reference for newly circumscribed taxa. The family’s division into the tribes Aegialitideae, Limonieae, and Plumbagineae departs from earlier two-subfamily classifications, prompted by recent phylogenetic findings that challenge the subfamilial affinity of Aegialitis. The genus Acantholimon was extended to include Gladiolimon, as currently available phylogenetic and morphological data support this merger. In Limonium, all accepted species could be assigned to sections and subsections or the “Mediterranean lineage”, respectively, making use of the phylogenetic distribution of their morphological characters and states. A new combination and/or status is proposed for Dyerophytum socotranum, Limonium thymoides, Limonium × fraternum, Limonium × rossmaessleri, and Limonium sect. Jovibarba. Special attention is given to nomenclatural issues, particularly for Statice nomen ambiguum to resolve the names under accepted names. The use of artificial groupings like “aggregates”, “complexes” and “species groups” in alpha-taxonomic treatments is discussed. The taxonomic backbone will receive continued updates and through the Caryophyllales Taxonomic Expert Network, it contributes the treatment of the Plumbaginaceae for the World Flora Online
